White Xbox One Microsoft considering a $399 version of the Xbox One, white color variant arriving later this year

The white Xbox One, which was initially limited to Microsoft staff, might be seeing a wider release in October. Along with the white color variant of the console, Microsoft will launch Sunset Overdrive. Microsoft is also considering launching a 1 TB version of the Xbox One without a Blu-Ray disc drive for $399. While the $399 Xbox One is still a rumor at this stage, it has been confirmed by Microsoft that a white Xbox One will be available in October.

In addition, Microsoft will deliver the first update to the Xbox One dashboard in March, which will fix a lot of issues related to Xbox Live, and bring more social sharing features to the console.

There was also a lot of game-related news that was leaked. Forza Horizon, the next game in the Forza series, will likely launch in fall 2014, and it has been estimated that the game would feature an open-world style of play. Quantum Break will launch in time for the holidays, while Fable Legends will launch in summer 2015. Then there is a Halo 2 Anniversary edition that sees the game getting HD textures and new playing modes. Microsoft recently acquired the rights for the Gears of War, and has confirmed that a new game was in the works. It has been leaked that a new game would take over two and a half years to make, so it is unlikely that we will see a new Gears of War game before the end of 2016. Meanwhile, Titanfall, the mech shooter that is launching on March 11, is set to get its first DLC 45 days after release, and the second DLC 120 days from the date of launch.

In October, Microsoft will launch the console in 15 more territories that include China, Poland, Czech Repub., Hungary, Greece, Portugal, Slovakia, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, United Allied Emirates, Israel, India, Indonesia and Egypt.
