Through the Games With Gold initiative, Microsoft has been giving out two free games monthly for Xbox 360 owners. It has been announced that this promotion will be available for Xbox Live Gold subscribers on the Xbox One sometime in 2014.
Xbox Live director of programming Larry “Major Nelson” Hryb announced on Twitter that the Games With Gold promotion will be available to Xbox Live Gold members on the Xbox One in 2014. The initiative launched in June as a limited time promotion for the Xbox 360, but has been extended indefinitely as an ongoing benefit for Xbox Live Gold subscribers.

No details have been mentioned as to the kind of titles that will be distributed through this program, with Microsoft just stating that more information will be available in 2014.
Through the Games With Gold initiative, Xbox Live Gold members receive two Xbox 360 games for free on a monthly basis. For the month of November, the free games include A World of Keflings, which was available from November 1 – 15, and Iron Brigade, which will be free to download from November 15 – 30.
Sony also gives out free games through its PlayStation Plus service, and has mentioned that the program will be available on the PlayStation 4. The PlayStation 4 is launching today in the U.S., and PlayStation Plus subscribers can download PS4 games like Resogun and Contrast for free starting this week.
