Microsoft looking for Xbox 360 testers for new disc format

Microsoft is seeking thousands of Xbox 360 Live members to test a new Xbox 360 disc format. And in return, the company will give a free copy of Halo: Reach and other freebies. Unfortunately, the offer is only for US-based members, well, specifically continental United States, and that they must own an Xbox 360 game console. Simply register at the Microsoft Connect site with your Windows Live ID conected to your Xbox Live Gamertag and wait for notification.

Ironically, if the software giant has chosen to adopt HD DVD as part of its high definition game disc format in 2005, Microsoft may not even have to come up with a new disc format today, nor would HD DVD have died.
