Microsoft to offer free Office 365 for nonprofits and NGOs
Microsoft has launched Office 365 for Nonprofits, an initiative offering the company’s cloud-based Office suite for free to qualified not-for-profits and NGOs around the world.
The program is part of Microsoft’s Technology for Good program, which allows organizations to apply and receive free access to tools and resources, and already includes Windows 8, Visual Studio, and Windows Server. There won’t be a limit on the number of employees who can use the free version of Office 365, so whether it’s a company of 10 or thousands of employees, each will get free access.
Office 365 for Nonprofits is available in 41 countries around the world, a figure that will see a jump to around 90 by July next year. All the services that are part of the suite, such as cloud storage and access to files from multiple machines, will be made available as part of the donation, and the source link has all the details on how to register for the donation program.
