Microsoft will end Mainstream Support for Windows 2000 this coming 30th June

Microsoft will be ending Mainstream support for Windows 2000 on the 30th of June this year, with security hotfixes and patches.

Users will have to pay for all non-security related patches and hotfixes after the stipulated date. Microsoft will still continue to offer security-related hotfixes and patches till the 31st of march 2010, leaving users plenty of time to implement an upgrade of their operating system.
