Honey they shrunk the HTC One.
The latest post from PhoneArena reports that the upcoming HTC M4, which many thought was supposed to be the HTC First (a.k.a. the Facebook phone) will be visually similar to the flagship HTC One. Not only that, many of the features found in the One will also be found in the upcoming mid-range M4 smartphone.
HTC M4 rumored specifications:
- Dual Core CPU (Probably Snapdragon 400)
- 2 GB Of DDR2 RAM
- 4.3 Inch HD (1280 x 720 pixels) Display
- UltraPixel Camera
- 16 GB Of Non-Expandable Storage
- 1700 mAh Non-Removable Battery
The HTC M4 will tone down the CPU to a dual core which we suspect will be one of Qualcomm's latest Krait (Snapdragon 400) with the Adreno 305 GPU. Screen size gets a cut to 4.3 inches, which still isn't that far off from the 4.7 inch display found in the One. All this contributes to lower power requirements, and hence battery also takes a cut to 1700 mAh (down from 2300 mAh found in HTC One).
HTC's M4 will have design elements simliar to the One, so much so that it will get difficult to differentiate between the two handsets. We believe that the M4 will also pack the same BoomSound speakers and Aluminium metal body as the One. PhoneArena mentions that the camera at the back will still retain HTC's new UltraPixels sensor, leading us to believe that the unit will remain a 4 MP UltraPixel camera (we don't really expect HTC to cut down on MP anymore).
According to the report, HTC M4 will ship towards the end of Q2 2013 which is just 2 months away with Android 4.2 Jelly Bean pre-installed.
