Motorola MotoPad Unveiled, Runs Android 3.0 Honeycomb
We have seen manufacturers like Samsung, Viewsonic, Creative Technology, Toshiba and Dell with their new Android-based tablet device, and it looks like Motorola is also coming up with theirs, called the MotoPad. The 7-inch MotoPad will run Android 3.0 (codenamed Honeycomb).
Google VP Andy Rubin unveiled a prototype of Motorola's MotoPad at D: Dive Into Mobile conference and showcased some of the apps including upcoming version of Google Maps that integrates the same functionality and 3D rendering of buildings in the web version. User can easily and quickly zoom in on particular areas, turn the maps and navigate through them
Designed for multimedia and personal entertainment, the 7-inch tablet device is powered by dual-core NVIDIA Tegra 2 processor, has two cameras (front for video calls and rear for photo/video capturing) and runs Android 3.0 (Honeycomb).
The official launch is expected to be within the first few days of January 2011, at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas.
