MSI has unveiled their latest ultra-powerful gaming laptop, the MSI GT680. This laptop managed a record-breaking 18,162 points on PCMark Vantage— a benchmark used to measure the overall performance of a computer. This is the best score any laptop has ever been able to attain, which in itself is already a justification of how this laptop is the best of the best.
The MSI GT680 Gaming Laptop features Intel’s 2nd Generation Core i7 Mobile Processor (Sandy Bridge platform for Laptops), an Nvidia GTX 460M GDDR5 1.5GB Graphics Card, and up to 16GB RAM.
Featuring the newest Intel Core i7-2630QM Processor, the GT680 smashed the previous records held by laptops in PCMark Vantage, with an immense score of
18,162 points. This is the highest score that any commercial laptop has managed.
Also, to further enhance the overall performance and speed of this laptop, MSI added in a 120GB SSD for the OS and a few essential programs of the user’s choice, plus a 500GB HDD for storage purposes. The user can alternatively opt for a 640GB or 1TB RAID 0 configuration.
The MSI GT680 comes with a 15.6-inch 1920 x 1080 LED backlit
display, which allows the user to enjoy their media content in Full HD quality. It also packs a plethora of
connectivity options, which includes 1 HDMI and VGA output, 2 USB 3.0 ports, 2
USB 2.0 ports, 1 eSATA port, 1 5-in-1 card reader, and a 802.11 b/g/n WLAN +
Bluetooth v2.1 + EDR module.
With all the high end hardware packed inside this system, plus a 9 cell Li-Ion battery, it is not surprising that this laptop has a largish dimension of 395 x 267 x 55mm (W x D x H), and weighs in 7.7 lbs.
