Then briefing time began as Tim Marshall, Master Judge for the APAC Final lays down the rules and set things straight.

To minimise downtime for the contestants, each participant is issued two sets of hardware. The first set is the one which they have already received back in their home country. The second set is only made available on the competition grounds, and is obtained through a lucky draw process. This minimises the possibility of rigging up "golden samples."
