Netgear has launched its latest network-attached storage (NAS) products, featuring a new operating system, revamped hardware design, and improved data security.

Netgear has launched its latest network-attached storage (NAS) products, featuring a new operating system, revamped hardware design, and improved data security.

 
The storage systems run on ReadyNAS OS 6, with a number of enterprise features like unlimited snapshots and cloud-managed replication to limit the risk of data loss, ReadyCloud for easy set-up, file discovery, and management, along with a number of other backup and security features.
 
The new range comes in four varieties, three of them desktop models and the fourth a 1U rackmount model. They are all diskless or come with drives pre-installed, from two to six bays. The 100 Series is designed for home use, the 300 Series is aimed at small businesses, the 500 Series is made for small-to-medium businesses, and the as yet unpriced ReadyNAS 2120 is designed for small data centres.

“With the new NAS, home and SMB users can confidently centralize and back up all their data,” said Tan Wee Fong, ASEAN Sales Manager for Netgear. “Mobility is the buzz word today. NAS provides road warriors with access to data as well as the ability to backup data on the go.”
 
The new NAS products are available immediately at select Challenger stores in Singapore. Costs range from $399 for the ReadyNAS 102 to $2,699 for the ReadyNAS 516.
