Neuston’s Maestro DVX-1201 is a standalone player that is capable of playing “all” media formats, including DiVX, XViD, DVDs and even something as mundane as a VCD.
Normally when it comes to reviewing DVD players or standalone sets, I would balk at the idea of actually reviewing it, since most standalone players are one and the same. What is there to review? There is no new technology involved, every player is only slightly different, and the usability varies by little or none. However, when we received the invitation to the Maestro DVX-1201 official launch, we were stoked and needed to check this new player out. Why? Simple, it is an entirely different type of standalone player. That in itself is exciting enough. The all-in-one solution for all media formats also appeals.
