Bringing the version number up to 7.1.1, the updated app brings Google Maps Street View, allowing users to explore the world at what is literally “street” level. This particular feature has been available for quite some time on desktop version of Google Maps, but Street View has finally come over to iOS devices. Search and directions have been improved as well, allowing users to visualize transit, walk, bike and drive directions in 3D. The improved search list allow users to browse results quickly.

Google has also incorporated some new Google Earth features for iOS. There’s a new left side included in the app, which will let users easily browse and enable different layers of the map. It just makes working within the app much easier, and brings the app up to par, in terms of design, with other Google apps available for iOS.

The updated Google Earth for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch is now available for download via iTunes App Store.
