New Iriver P8 portable media player shows up for sale in Russia

Iriver may have been rather quiet down here in this part of the world, but that does not mean that the company has been letting its line of portable media players remain stagnant as well. Apparently, a new portable media player known as the Iriver P8 which sports quite a few interesting features has been spotted for sale in Russia.

When was the last time you heard of a new product announcement from Iriver? Say, maybe five months ago, with the introduction of the U100 back then? Well, it seems that the Korean consumer electronics manufacturer is back once again with yet another new portable media player to compete in the market, and it comes in the form of the white Iriver P8, as shown below:

According to the official hardware specifications available on Iriver's product page, the P8 portable media player sports a five inch touchscreen which is capable of a native resolution of 800 x 480, along with a battery which is reportedly capable of providing the P8 with up to nine hours of continuous video playback or approximately 40 hours of audio playback on a single charge. In addition, Iriver claims that the P8 boasts a sufficiently powerful processor which is capable of handling 1080p video playback, support for external displays via HDMI, and well as built-in compatibility with a wide range of media formats such as MP3, WMA, OGG, APE, FLAC, WAV, AVI, XviD, WMV, MKV, JPG, BMP, PNG, GIF and TXT.

No information the P8's pricing and availability has been made public yet, so do check back for updates.
