New Jelly Bean build for Xperia S has surfaced
An image showing an Xperia S running Android version 4.1.2 has leaked, and it is also carrying a build number that is further ahead than previous leaks.
If a leaked image is to be believed, there’s a chance that the Sony Xperia S could be receiving Android version 4.1.2 sometime soon. This is always good news, as an Android version update is a rare event for owners of smartphones currently not named Nexus, and sometimes even for those. Check out the picture posted on the Xperia Blog below.
There was a leak in the past that showed the build number as 6.2.B.0.197, so it’s reasonable to believe that this leak is newer than the last, because the build number is similar, except for the last three digits which have jumped from 197 to 200.
This version is also the same one that was recently certified by the PTCRB, so it could indicate that the update might be rolling out sooner rather than later. If you’re feeling impatient and have the phone with an unlocked bootloader then you can head over to XDA and try installing it now.
Either way, it looks like the waiting game might soon come to an end. Once it’s over, the new waiting game can begin for version 4.2.
