New teaser trailer & Facebook page launched for Call of Duty: Ghosts

An official Facebook page for Activision's new chapter in the definitive FPS franchise has just been launched, solidifying Call of Duty: Ghosts as an upcoming title of 2013.

Activision has recently launched an official Facebook page for Call of Duty: Ghosts, solidifying their newest chapter in the definitive military FPS franchise as an actual upcoming release.

The official confirmation came on the heels of the recently leaked box art and release date for the upcoming title, which debuted on the web days ago from online retailers Tesco Direct and an advertisement from Target.com.

The Facebook page doesn't have any new updates or information; just a single picture–which can be found above–teases at CoD: Ghosts, confirming that "the ghosts are real".

In a post on Call of Duty's official Google+ page, Activision has also announced that Call of Duty: Ghosts will be showcased at the official Xbox 720 reveal on May 21st, which seems to add further credibility to the rumor of a next-gen release for the game.

The rumor of a next-gen release for CoD: Ghosts has also been substantiated by Activision's new next-gen engine demoed at this year's Game Developer's Conference (GDC 2013). The new engine was believed to power the next wave of Call of Duty titles for next-generation consoles, yet the publisher didn't release any official details on which console will utilize it–PS4 or Xbox 720/Durango.

Whether or not Call of Duty: Ghosts is coming to next-gen consoles or not has yet to be confirmed, but we do know that the game is in development and should see a multiplatform release this November, following the trend set forth by recent CoD releases.

It will certainly be interesting to see what footage is showcased during Microsoft's official Xbox 720 reveal, and we may in fact see an official confirmation for a next-gen release for CoD: Ghosts.

Activision has also released a brand new teaser trailer for Call of Duty: Ghosts that gives a brief snippet of the live footage to be revealed at the next-gen Xbox event. Below you can find the trailer entitled "Masked Warriors", and it's description:

Call of Duty: Ghosts – There are those who wear masks to protect themselves. And there are those who wear masks to protect us all. See the world premiere of Call of Duty: Ghosts May 21st.

Call of Duty: Ghosts is believed to be slated for a release on Nov. 5, 2013 for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PC and Wii U, and is also rumored to release on next-gen consoles as well. For more information please visit the game's official website.
