Given the not yet official Newman K2 phone has appeared on our radar just seven days ago, you could say things are moving very fast for it. True, we’re yet to hear something on the record from Newman, but on the down low we know everything there is to the K2 spec-wise.
Big pieces of the puzzle have been uncovered the previous two times we’ve spoken about the device, but it’s only today we can look at the full big picture. A picture that’s very bright and colorful.
The Newman K2 will apparently land in “the next few weeks” in two slightly different flavors: a so-called “Basic” variant and an “Advanced” model. No prizes for guessing which version will be the top dog, but you might be surprised to hear the K2 Basic will not exactly be a pushover.
In fact, the only aces the Advanced will hold up its sleeve will be an extra gig of RAM (2 vs. 1) and 16 more gigs of internal storage (32 vs. 16). Otherwise, the two phones will be identical and rock the following features:
- 5.5-inch Full HD (1,920 x 1,080 pix res) Laminated screen
- Android 4.2 Jelly Bean
- Quad-core 1.5 GHz MT6589T processor
- Power VR SGX544MP GPU
- 3,000 mAh battery
- 13 MP rear camera with F/2.2 Aperture
- 5 MP front cam
- MicroSD support
- 153 x 78 x 9.8 mm dimensions
Not bad for something that’s likely to cost around $245 (1,499 Yuan) in China, right? I mean, you have your quad-core power, a more than generous battery, a large and crisp display, plus a very capable rear camera and up to date software. Not to mention dual SIM support and a winning design What more could you want?
