Newman N3 pics show up again, specs still a mystery
Following the mildly successful Newman N1 and especially the surprisingly popular N2 is unlikely to be an easy feat, but based on existent rumors the soon to be unveiled N3 has what it takes to become a hit in China. At least from a design standpoint.
The mysterious phone has for the first time been pictured a couple of weeks ago, with the second set of leaked photos looking a little different, but still awfully encouraging. Instead of going with a tasteful and elegant black and white color scheme for N3’s chassis, Newman appears to have taken a bit of a gamble, combining black with red highlights.
The end result is surprisingly snazzy if you ask me, though I’m pretty sure some will find it tacky. Oh, well, you cannot please everyone, can you?
An even more controversial decision is likely to be the replacing of N2’s four capacitive buttons with just one – home. Don’t get me wrong, I dig simplicity as much as the next guy, but isn’t that bezel a little thick for just one lousy button?
Be that as it may, the Newman N3 still looks pretty good from the outside, which begs the question – how’s it doing on the inside? Sadly, there’s very little to report on the hardware and software fronts for now, with the only “known” details being the N3 will come with a larger 5-inch screen, Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, 13 MP camera and 1,900 mAh battery.
Wait, what? Just a 1,900 mAh ticker? I sure hope the rumors are wrong on that, because if not, Newman is about to make the biggest mistake ever. I mean, come on, guys, the N2 packs a 2,500 mAh battery while sporting a smaller 4.7-inch display. And you can’t say the N3 is much thinner either, at least at a first glance. But let’s try to keep our cool for now and patiently wait for an official announcement. Don’t worry, it will come.
