The Google Nexus 7 gets a price cut, clears away doubts in everyone’s mind, next-generation Nexus tablet to hit us soon.
The coolest 7-inch Android tablet just got cooler when Staples decided to slash the price of the 16 GB Nexus 7 to just $179.99. Sweet, ain’t it? For those who need more storage, you can now grab the 32 GB Nexus 7 model for just $199.99, the original price of the (measly, paltry… etc.) 8 GB model. Not too shabby for a quad-core Tegra 3 equipped tablet, 1 GB of RAM, 7-inch 1280 x 800 high-resolution display and (of course) the latest Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean OS, with lightning-fast updates to future OS versions.
While the deal might seem tempting, the price cut could be what we perceive as the strongest indication that a new Nexus mid-sized tablet is headed our way. Recent rumors put the new Nexus to be a powerful device, with a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro (S600) chipset and a Full HD display in tow. Once again, we expect an exciting $199 price tag, or maybe a slightly higher $229 (according to some reports) price tag for the lowest storage equipped model. Even then, we wouldn’t have second thoughts before buying one.
