To commemorate the impending release of The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds, Nintendo is rolling out limited edition 3DS XL systems that are emblazoned with the game’s symbolic golden tri-force. The special editions also include a Luigi-themed handheld, and are currently available for pre-order in the UK–but Nintendo is believed to bring them overseas sometime in the future.
A sequel to one of the most celebrated games of all time is a pretty big deal, and millions of gamers across the globe are poised for the launch of A Link Between Worlds next month. The upcoming Zelda title will feature numerous cross-overs from the definitive universe, and the game has been hailed for its originality and attention to the franchise’s spanning story arc.
Nintendo is known for making special editions to roll out alongside key game releases, and they are already offering a limited edition A Link Between Worlds 3DS XL system in the UK for £199.99 which includes the system and a download code for the game.
For those of you who have always preferred the taller, clumsier half of the Mario Bros. duo and want to celebrate the Year of Luigi in style, Nintendo also has a limited edition Luigi 3DS XL up for grabs for £179.99.
Both special editions are now available for pre-order in the UK, and be sure to remember that while these systems do come with the bigger, fancier 3DS XL and 4GB SD card, power adapters are sold separately and aren’t included.
We’ll likely see these special editions offered in the U.S. sometime in the near future.
The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds is slated to release on Nov. 22, 2013 in Europe.
