In the new installment of Nintendo Direct, Satoru Iwata announces that the company has made a deal with Sega to create a new Sonic title exclusively to the Wii U and 3DS. Iwata also announced that the partnership will bring in a slew of classic Game Gear games onto the Nintendo e-Shop.
In a surprising move, Nintendo has recently signed a partnership with past gaming rival SEGA to develop a new exclusive Sonic title, and the company will also make classic Game Gear titles available on the 3DS' virtual e-Shop.
The deal was announced during today's Nintendo Direct video log from Nintendo President Satoru Iwata, who went into brief details about the upcoming Sonic release:
"The next game in the series, Sonic: Lost World is a brand new action adventure platforming game that will launch exclusively on the Wii U and Nintendo 3DS."
Iwata didn't give any other details concerning the upcoming Sonic title, and we can expect more details "closer to the game's release".
Iwata also revealed that the partnership includes a variety of classic titles from Sega's original handheld Game Gear system, which will be introduced to the Nintendo 3DS e-Shop "soon".
