Nokia to announce new products on February 26th

Nokia recently announced its first new smartphone (the Nokia 6) following the end of the brand name’s exclusivity with Microsoft, and the company is not done yet. HMD Global, the company now making phones under Nokia’s brand name, has said that it will be making more announcements on February 26th, a day before Mobile World Congress officially kicks off.

The company doesn’t specifically say if it will announce new smartphones, but nothing else should be expected from the company. We should also find out whether the Nokia 6 will be making its way to markets outside China. HMD is expected to launch 6 to 7 smartphones with the Nokia branding in 2017. The reveal of a new handset may or may not take place at the event, but it is certainly something to look forward to, especially for fans of the company who are waiting to see what the company will offer in the coming months.

One can also hope that the devices announced later down the line will include a flagship smartphone, as the Nokia 6 is pretty much a mid-range affair by today’s standards. It features a metal body (made of a single block of aluminium), a 5.5-inch Full HD display, a meager Snapdragon 430 processor, 4GB of RAM, 64GB of internal storage, a 13-megapixel rear and 8-megapixel front-facing camera, and Android 7.0 Nougat. The device will go on sale in China on January 19th.
