With technology going very fast, it is no doubt one day in the future, a
phone can do much more than ever and better with what it can do now.

Nokia’s
Anssi Vanjoki made a comment during a speech in Helsinki that “cameraphone
technology will shortly make SLR system cameras obsolete”

A quote from Reuters‘s article mention:

“There will be no need to carry around those
heavy lenses,”
Vanjoki said, pointing to a professional photographer taking
pictures of him.

While it might hold true to some sense when it comes to mere casual photography but if it is about professional high quality studio shoots, there is still more to go for cameraphones.
