Nokia to launch Lumia tablet on May 14th?
It doesn't come as a big surprise that Nokia is preparing a Windows based tablet. How does it compare against current market offerings like Microsoft's own Surface RT?
Nokia might be gearing up to launch their first Lumia branded tablet in their upcoming event scheduled for the 14th of May. Fresh new details regarding the same comes from an Indian website dubbed GSMInsider.
Let's name this leaked Nokia product the Lumia Tablet (obviously!). So the alleged Lumia tablet is said to pack a 10.1 inch display with a rather sub-par resolution of (1366 x 768) pixels only. Under the hood is a 1 GHz processor (we are guessing a dual core) with a 1 GB of RAM. The dimensions of the tablet are 256.6×175.3×9.7 mm while the device weighs in at a heavy (but normal for a 10-incher) 676 grams.
Now we really don't know if the Lumia tablet is real but judging by the specifications we are calling it a Windows 8 RT based tablet with a Qualcomm Snapdragon under the hood (and not a Windows 8 x86 with Intel Atom inside). Even then, it would be pretty exciting to see Nokia's take on a Windows tablet (or a tablet as a whole) as the Finnish company has yet to release any tablet under any platform in the market.
