Nokia is planning to unveil its newest smartphone this Wednesday, and it should come with a QWERTY keyboard, ideal for text and email addicts who prefer a more tactile typing experience.

Nokia is planning to unveil its newest smartphone this Wednesday, and it should come with a QWERTY keyboard, ideal for text and email addicts who prefer a more tactile typing experience.

 
The Finnish company will reveal the new device at 7am GMT on Wednesday morning. It said it will announce “something new,” and it will also have a Q&A session with Neil Broadley from the Mobile Phones team, in addition to an unspecified special guest.

A teaser image shows the typical bright colours of Nokia's Lumia range, so we can likely expect more Windows Phone 8 and a variety of shades to match anyone's outfit. Some fans are calling for a QWERTY model with Symbian or Asha instead, however.
 
Other details remain under wraps at this time, but this is likely one of several Nokia devices launching this year as it attempts to regain its mobile crown. It faces tough competition, however, including from QWERTY king BlackBerry, which has just released the keyboard-touting Q10.
