NTT Docomo announces two tablet devices for LTE Xi

Today, NTT Docomo unveiled two tablet devices which support the telco operator's extra-high-speed next-generation LTE Xi (read “Crossy”) service. The two tablets are the Samsung GALAXY Tab 10.1 LTE SC-01D and Fujitsu ARROWS Tab LTE F-01D, and both will be available in October next month

NTT DoCoMo has introduced two tablet devices which will support the mobile operator's LTE "Xi (Crossy)" service - the Samsung GALAXY Tab 10.1 LTE SC-01D and Fujitsu "ARROWS Tab LTE F-01D. Both sport 10.1-inch display, are powered by dual core CPUs and run Google's latest Android 3.2 Honeycomb mobile operating system. The Samsung GALAXY Tab 10.1 LTE SC-01D is designed for users who want a lightweight tablet device with great usability, while the Fujitsu ARROWS Tab LTE F-01D claims to be water-proof devices and is ideal for users to enjoy videos and mobile TV while relaxing in the bathtub.

In conjunction with the launch of the LTE Xi-compatible tablets, NTT Docomo will also offer four new broadband applications including the popular Hulu and Qik Video services, which will suit Xi’s high-spec mobile video/TV, communications and online gaming capabilities. On top of that, the operator has also announced that it will establish a separate category for tablet devices called "docomo Tablet" to differentiate the usage between smartphones and in recognition of the growing number of tablet devices in the market. The "docomo Tablets" Samsung GALAXY Tab 10.1 LTE SC-01D and Fujitsu ARROWS Tab LTE F-01D will be available in early October and mid October respectively.
