Both AMD and Nvidia are holding events before CES starts, and this year they happen to be in the same location.

AMD is currently holding a Kaveri tech day and briefing for the press at the Cosmopolitan hotel in Las Vegas, and Nvidia has booked a ballroom in the hotel for its keynote at the same time. While AMD’s tech day will be officially wrapped up by the time Nvidia’s Jen Hsun Huang takes the stage, AMD will have the press at a reception hosted by CTO Mark Papermaster and shuttles don’t begin until the keynote starts.

During Nvidia’s “The Way It’s Meant to be Played” event in October in Montreal, AMD booked out a ballroom at the hotel next door to Nvidia’s hotel to show off its Radeon line of cards. Reportedly, Nvidia physically barred attendees of its conference from going across the street to check out AMD’s display.

Nvidia is expected to talk about its next-generation Tegra SoC, Logan, at its press conference on Sunday.
