The Nvidia Geforce GTX 470 and GTX 480 cards are starting to show up on North American e-tail. The ETA is listed as 12th April everywhere, as expected. As per our previous article, the cards have only made it into the two premier e-tail outlets thus far. Bot the GTX 470 and GTX 480 have been listed by 5-6 AIC partners on Newegg. Thankfully, the cards are listed at their SRP - i.e. $349 and $499 respectively, at least for now. All cards are listed as "Out of Stock" with ETA on 04/12/2010. Things are more revealing on the other premier e-tailer, ZipZoomFly.

Unlike Newegg, ZipZoomFly are up front with the status of GTX 400 products. Right off the bat, they have no intention to maintain the SRP, anticipating short supplies. The GTX 470 are available for a minimum of $399, with the average being $430. The GTX 480 are between $549 and $600 - with the EVGA at a whopping $650!

ZipZoomFly is also offering Pre-orders. However, almost all of these cards are out of stock with "Notify Me" and only three GTX 470s can yet be pre-ordered. It is clear that all GTX 400 products have the "Limited Quantity. Pre-order Now." written by them. What this suggests is that all GTX 400 cards are already sold out; except the three GTX 470 variants. But of course, that is just an interpretation, and the truth could be different.

With three days to April 12th, it does look like the retail availability is indeed very thin. If you are on the look out for a GTX 470, we suggest you pre-order from ZipZoomFly right away!
