Nvidia Geforce GTX 480 to be unveiled on March 26th

Reported by on Tuesday, February 23 2010 1:29 pm

It is official - Nvidia's much anticipated Geforce GTX 480 is all set to be unveiled at PAX East 2010 on March 26th 2010, at 6PM local time (at Boston, MA). However, the choice of words makes it unclear as to what kind of an "unveiling" this really is. Given the GTX 480s numerous "launches" and "demonstrations", for all we know, this might be yet another. What we can expect, though, is a paper launch. More details next page.

It remains to be seen when we see product availability, but some kind of an "unveiling" within Q1 is definitely encouraging, given the relentless delays.

Though the GTX 400 series will be the star of the show, Nvidia will be showing off more of their products - with a special emphasis on 3D and Tegra.

While this is an important date - March 26th - we cannot assume this as a date for a paper launch or performance previews, let alone a hard launch. However, with Fermi, anything can happen, so we will keep a keen eye out for the next month as we lead in to PAX East 2010.
