The GeForce GTS 455 has been part of several rumours – from a GF106 with 192-bit memory and higher clocks to a heavily crippled GF104. Judging by the Device ID, a heavily crippled GF104 seems most likely. Indeed, this rumour originated way back in July. The card still isn’t on the market, and it is unknown if it will ever release.

NVIDIA has gained infamy for being serial rebranders, especially in the OEM and Notebook segments. The GT 555M may simply be a GF108 rebrand, or it may be a GF11x derivative card. In any case, the GT 555M is surely one of the measures to counter NVIDIA’s rapidly dropping notebook market share.
