A forum member at Zol forums has leaked a die shot of Nvidia’s upcoming GF104 based product, GTX 460. Like several of Nvidia’s previous enthusiast cards, it has a heatspreader on top, which doesn’t quite give away the core die. However, it is clear it is a GF104 and a revision A1. Whether GTX 460 will hit stores as A1 is yet unknown.

At first glance, the GF104 does come off as distinctive, with a wide rectangular shape, rather than the square we have become used to. Of course, this tells very little about the actual die underneath, but it is likely to be a big chip, probably bigger than Cypress.

Unfortunately, the forum member woaiamd was reluctant to share the entire PCB’s picture, and blurred out the surrounding components around the die. However, six memory chips can be seen, which fits in with the 768MB rumour. There could be more chips off screen, though.

The first GF104 product, the GTX 460, is expected to release some time in mid-July, most likely July 12th. A GTX 460 1GB variant is also rumoured on release.
