NVIDIA has released GeForce driver version 331.82, bearing certification from Microsoft’s Windows Hardware Quality Labs.
The 331.82 WHQL release is recommended for “all GeForce GTX users,” and adds official support for Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag and Need For Speed Rivals, both of which launch between November 19 – 22. The new driver also comes with optimizations that will offer up to 50 percent faster frame rates in Battlefield 4, Crysis 3, and Metro Last Light on 3840×2160 monitors.
Also included is version 1.7.1 of GeForce Experience software, which lifts the CPU requirement for NVIDIA’s ShadowPlay video recording tool, making it available for all GeForce GTX 600 and 700 cards. Other changes include updated SLI and 3D Vision profiles for a couple of games, as well as performance improvements in a few select titles, as is usually the case with every new release.
