NVIDIA reports Q4 and FY 2012 results

NVIDIA has reported results for financial results for Q4 FY 2012, and full FY 2012 ended Jan 29th 2012. Revenues for FY 2012 stood at $4 billion, with Q4 at $953 million.

NVIDIA has reported results for financial results for Q4 FY 2012, and full FY 2012 ended Jan 29th 2012. Revenues for FY 2012 stood at $4 billion, with Q4 at $953 million.

Compared to Q3, Q4 revenues were down 10.6%. Despite this, overall FY 2012 revenues were up 12.8% over FY 2011. GAAP net income for FY 2012 was up to $581.1 million, an immense 230% over FY 2011. Q4 FY 2012 income was down to $116 million from Q3's $178 million, although up 7.5% from the same period last year. Gross margin for FY 2012 was upto 51.4%, up sharply from 39.8% in FY 2011.

Highlights from Q4 FY 2012 (which includes CES 2012) were the release of Tegra 3 and Maximus, and announcements of several Tegra 3 devices, particularly high-end tablets with Full HD displays. Looking to the future, NVIDIA expects Tegra 3 and Kepler to be the main growth drivers.  For Q1 FY 2013, ending May 30th 2012, NVIDIA expects revenue to be between $900 and $930 million.  Gross margin will also be down to 49.2% +/- 1%.
