(Impress) Nvidia's public event in Akiba featured the ION, which combines the Atom Z230 (1.6Ghz) and Geforce 9400M graphics platform. The public experienced a variety of events which includes Nvidia's 3D steroscopic system.

The machine is almost the size of the palm, however, in the event demonstration, it was capable of  playing a Blu-ray while the display output is via DVI with HDCP display at 2560 × 1600 desktop resolution.

They have used PowerDVD9 as the software to play the video.
During this time, the CPU load was at 32-50%, while most of time, it hovers around 40%, and of course with no frame drops.

Power consumption was at 28 watts while playing the blu ray video.

The event was definitely an eye opener, I am sure many others are waiting for ION based systems to retail. I know I am one of them.
