NVIDIA Sued For Making BGA GPUs

NVIDIA has been targeted in a lawsuit by Scanner Technologies over several patents related to manufacturing ball grid arrays. The suit, filed in U.S. District Court in Texas, alleges NVIDIA infringed U.S. Patents 7,079,678 and 7,085,411 belonging to Scanner Technologies, which builds vision inspection products. Both patents disclose a method of three-dimensional inspection that allow BGAs to be manufactured more precisely and efficiently. The complaint also alleges that nVidia has induced others to infringe.
