The Japanese market has become the first to learn of two new Agility 3 series solid state drives on the horizon – a 180GB and 360GB model. Looking at the Agility 3 product page on OCZ's website confirms the two additional variants with their respective part numbers listed.

OCZ's Agility 3 line of SSDs sits underneath the company's flagship Vertex 3 line with the same SandForce SF-2281 controller, but with cheaper asynchronous NAND flash memory and the general consensus is that these drives offer pretty good bang for buck. The new 180GB drive (with a part number of AGT3-25SAT3-180G) fills the void between the existing 120GB and 240GB models, while the 360GB (AGT3-25SAT3-360G ) takes care of the gap between the 240GB and 480GB models.

Running quickly over the rated performance figures, the 180GB model gives sequential read rates of up to 525MB/sec and writes at up to 500MB/sec with 35,000 IOPS 4K random write performance. The 360GB model is also rated at up to 525MB/sec read, but with 495MB/sec write rates and the same 35,000 IOPS 4K random write performance applies.

Pricing on the two new models comes in at 19,000 JPY (US $256) for the 180GB Agility 3 and 36,000 JPY (US $447) for the 360GB.
