Only recently we had heard reports that Apple CEO Tim Cook was looking for ways to increase iPhone sales through the company’s own retail channels. Many methods were reportedly discussed in a secret meeting that was called a few weeks ago, revamping the Apple Store app was said to be one of those methods. To entice users to download and use this app, it was said that Apple would offer free iTunes content as well as paid apps. The new Apple Store app was released a few days back and Color Zen is the first free offering that the company is making to its customers through this app.

At the meeting, it is believed that Tim Cook said that only a small percentage of Apple customers actually know about this app. Apparently retail store employees have now been directed to install the official Apple Store app on a customer’s new device during the Personal Setup stage. Not only will the free content bring in more traffic for the app, it might significantly improve sales through Apple’s own channel in the long run.

Its pretty easy to get the free content, simply search for an Apple Retail Store in the app and tap on it to bring up information. There you’ll notice whatever it is that’s being offered. A few taps here and there and the free content will be all yours.
