If your idea of a good camera involves having a sexy (for the lack of a better word) body, striking colours and a footprint small enough to fit inside a pocket, Olympus will probably be your new best friend. And for good reason too: the company has just launched two new compact digital cameras under the FE name: the Olympus FE-5050 and FE-4050.
Specs-wise, both cameras have fairly similar hardware. While the FE-5050 comes with a 14-megapixel CCD sensor and an ultra-wide 26mm lens with 5x zoom, the FE-4050 has a slightly lesser sensor which captures images at up to 12-megapixels, and loses the ultra wide-angle 26mm lens for a 27mm lens with 4x optical zoom instead.
Both cameras also share the same pre-installed artistic filters. According to Olympus, the FE-5050 and FE-4050 will come with six such filters: Pop (vivid), Pin Hole, Fisheye, Sketch, Soft Focus and Punk.
