One-day deal alert: Kindle Fire HD costs $136, Fire HDX 7 $184 (20 percent off)
Amazon’s generosity seems to know no time bounds, so even if Black Friday and Cyber Monday are long gone and Christmas a little ways down the road, you can score the Kindle Fire HD and HDX tablets on the cheap.
The retailer and hardware manufacturer’s newest deals bring the 16 GB Fire HD’s price down to $135.20, so $33.80, or 20 percent off. That’s for the version assorted with so-called special offers (i.e. ads and sponsored screensavers), whereas the “stock” model costs $147.20, so also 20 percent ($36.80) off.
Want to save even more? Usually, we’d recommend the 8 GB Amazon Kindle Fire HD, but alas, the more modest 7-incher has been left out of the promo and is thus more pricey than its sibling, at $139 with and $154 without special offers.
Still, if you’re on a tighter budget, there is one more option. You just need to give up a few things: gaming, browsing, smooth multimedia playing. Everything but reading. That’s right, the basic fourth-generation 6-inch Kindle e-reader has also been discounted, to a starting price of $55.20 ($13.80 savings).
And now, la crème de la crème. The 7-inch Kindle Fire HDX, though sporting a stunningly vibrant 1,920 x 1,200 pixels resolution IPS panel and zippy quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 CPU, goes for $183.20 with Wi-Fi only connectivity, 16 GB storage and special offers.
Normally, that would be $229, thus the price shave is of 20% once again: $45.80. Valid sans special offers as well ($195.20 price, down from $244), but not with 32 or 64 gigs of storage space or in 4G LTE-enabled flavors.
All “Green Monday” Amazon promotions are, as you easily guessed already, time-limited, with an expiration date set for the end of today. Get a move on, will you?
