If you didn’t have the money for a PC back in 1998, then chances are you never had the chance to play Baldur’s Gate.  That may change, however, because Overhaul Games is currently working on a re-release of the classic Baldur’s Gate.  The classes, races, and plots will be the same, but Overhaul Games is promising never before seen features.

What type of new content you ask?  Reportedly, Baldur’s Gate: Enhanced Edition will have new dungeons, three new playable sidekicks, and cross-platform multiplayer.

So you’ll be able to connect and play with Mac and PC players, and even iPad players can join in.  That’s right, Baldur’s Gate will be available for the iPad, but why not Android?

Although Overhaul Games is responsible for rebuilding the original Baldur’s Gate, its original developers will also be involved in its development.  The game will debut on PC and Mac for $20, and $10 for the iPad on September 18.  The only downside is that optional characters must be purchased in game.

Oh look, a bug!
