At last month's Mobile World Congress, Panasonic unveiled their new 4.3-inch Eluga, which claims to be waterproof. The smartphone is scheduled to launch in Japan on 29 March by NTT DoCoMo, though pricing details have yet to be revealed. However, the Panasonic Eluga started selling in UK last week, at £399 (US$630), which is quite expensive. The Panasonic Eluga measures 7.8mm thin and weighs 103g. It sports a 4.3-inch OLED touchscreen (960×540) and claims to be resistant to water and dust. Internally, it is powered by a 1GHz TI OMAP processor with 16GB memory and features Near Field Communication (NFC) technology, 8-megapixel camera (without flash) and runs Android 2.3 Gingerbread. According to the company, Android 4.0 ICS upgrade will come in Q2 2012. The phone will also be launched in other European countries in April.
