PC Power and Cooling Silencer MKIII 1200W Review
We received the PC Power and Cooling Silencer MKIII 1200W power supply inside a very simple white cardboard box. The artwork theme is very bright, with slightly visible pictures of the power supply itself being the only real attraction.
The power supply is very well secured inside the box, held between two polyethylene foam pieces and wrapped inside a reusable cloth bag.
We found the bundle lacking for a product of such a level. Inside the box we only found the necessary A/C power cable, a few cable ties, four black thumbscrews and a manual. There were no cable straps or other accessories whatsoever. Finally, there is no individual test report either, something which only PC Power and Cooling had been providing with their units in the past and which they apparently ditched in order to simplify their production line.
The modular cables of the Silencer MKIII are all black, flat cables without sleeving, making them sleeker and better looking. There is a major difference though; PC Power and Cooling is using aviation-type connectors instead of normal plastic plugs, which are bulkier but offer a high quality appearance. It is interesting to note that there are only four 6+2 pin PCIe connectors and four Molex connectors. With two more PCIe connectors to be found hardwired to the unit, that's only six PCIe connectors and four Molex connectors; not too good for a 1200W power supply.
