Metro: Last Light takes players back to the post-apocalyptic ruins of Moscow, where humanity has been forced to live in underground tunnels to survive. Life is bleak, and the world is riddled with dangers including the very environment that's teeming with mutants born from the toxic atmosphere as well as enemy factions that vie for control of essential resources.
As Artyom, a heroic ranger who has brought salvation to the last vestige of humanity, players must delve deep into the wasteland to combat merciless foes and stop their search for a destructive doomsday device that could very well wipe out the city's inhabitants.
In Metro: Last Light, Artyom must once again deliver his people into salvation and become the last light for all of humanity.
The game's plot was also penned by Dmitry Glukhovsky, the creator and author of the original novels, and features many crossovers from the books. Additionally his latest book in the series, Metro 2035, will be available this year, and MGM has recently purchased the rights for a feature-length film based in the Metro franchise.
Metro: Last Light is slated for release on May 14, 2013 in North America and May 17, 2013 across Europe for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC.
