Yesterday, Philips Electronics announced their new range of home theatre systems and LCD TVs to go with their new “Obsessed with Sound and Vision” campaign. The new products are schedule to be available around end July and promise superb design as well as audio and visual experience to the consumers.
Usman Qureshi, Customer Marketing Manager for Philips Electronics Singapore, Consumer Lifestyle, says that the company did well for the audio/video products including being a market leader for soundbar systems.
“Philips is going to focus on LED, and not LCD this year. There are two main reasons for that. One, we believe that LED is going to be next generation technology and thus we are going to do whatever we can to grow that particular segment; the second thing is that the eco-friendliness of LED has already proven and you get lower power consumption, which is good for the consumers,” says Qureshi.
Philips showcased the 8000 and 9000 series LCD TV with Ambilight Spectra, as well as the HTS9140 SoundBar Blu-ray Home Theatre.
The manufacturer also introduced the HTS9520 5.1 home theatre system with 360Sound. Each of the satellite speaker has three drivers, one firing forward, while the two firing sideways. In a 5.1 set up, the audio will travel not just directly at you (in the middle where you’re sitting) but also around you.
Besides TVs and home theatre systems, Philips also showcased their new docking speakers and also the GoGear Muse MP4 player. The MP4 player features a 3.2-inch touchscreen, HDMI output and supports FLAC and APE lossless audio codec.
