Sony Computer Entertainment Inc has just announced that PlayStation Home Beta service for PLAYSTATION3 (PS3) will become available to all PS3 users around the world from 11 December 2008.

PlayStation Home is a 3D social gaming community available exclusively on the PS3 that allows users to interact, communicate and share their online-gaming experiences. Users can explore virtual communities in real time where they can communicate freely through text or voice-chat and also create and customize their own unique avatars.

In addition, users will also be able to purchase various items at the "Shopping Mall", "Personal Spaces" and "Clubhouses" for customizing their avatars.

Besides enjoying a variety of entertainment content such as mini-games, videos and special events along with their friends, PlayStation Home users will also be able to create their own community by using the “Club*2” feature to create customized clubs with other users who share the same interests.

The latest information of PlayStation Home can be found on PlayStation Home Official Site (http://www.us.playstation.com/PSN/Home).
