PNY has introduced its new line of CS2030 M.2 PCIe (Gen 3×4) solid state drives aimed at enthusiasts and gamers. If you are looking to upgrade your system performance and want a next-gen M.2 2280 drive, the PNY CS2030 should be on your list.
The CS2030 NVMe drives utilizes a Phison PS5007 controller and an MLC NAND flash memory, delivering impressive transfer speeds. The company claims the drives offer sequential read speeds of up to 2,750 MB/s and sequential write speeds of up to 1,500 MB/s. 4K random reads are rated at up to 210,000 IOPS, while 4K random writes hit up to 215,000 IOPS. These numbers are highly impressive and are a significant upgrade over traditional SATA-based SSDs. In terms of reliability, PNY CS2030 drives have a MTBF (mean time between failures) of 2,000,000 hours.
The PNY CS2030 drives come backed by a 3-year limited warranty and come in two capacities for now – 240GB and 480GB. In the US, the 240GB drive has been priced at $179.99, while the 480GB variant has been priced at $329.99. While we can’t call it a steal, but the pricing is quite sensible and undercuts the Samsung 960 Evo drives. The drives measure 80 x 22 x 3.80mm and weigh in at just 8 grams.
