Probably the world’s smallest MP3 player, theKube

Singapore-based OLLO Technologies has launched the theKube, which claims to be the world’s smallest MP3 player. It measures just 23mm in length, breadth and height, weighs 18g and has 2GB internal storage (expandable to 32GB via a microSD card slot). Read on for the press release of this cute theKube MP3 player.

Singapore, 19 June 2009 – Singapore-based OLLO Technologies is now shipping theKube, an MP3 player so small that a user would not even feel its presence despite its rich audio playback.

While other electronics makers ask users to consider how tiny their players are, OLLO
prefers to ask them to think “invisible” instead with theKube MP3 player, which is now on sale at 7-Eleven convenience stores islandwide.

No bigger than a human thumb (23 x 23 x 23 mm) and weighing a mere 18 grams, theKube is more compact than any player in the market and promises to deliver sound to users without them feeling the weight of a gadget in the pocket.

With its micro size, it virtually “disappears” when a user fires up the first of 500 CD-quality tracks that can be stored with its 2GB capacity. All that users need to do is transfer their favorite songs onto the tiny maestro.

Utilizing a microSD card slot, theKube even allows users to expand its capacity to up to
32GB – holding up to a mind-boggling 8,000 songs – by simply inserting a microSD memory card. For users who already have microSD cards, they can also swap out hundreds of tracks at a go.

Micro-sized but massive impact
Despite its incredibly tiny frame, theKube will play on for 6 hours continuously, after being charged fully via a USB cable that can be connected to a laptop or desktop PC.

The MP3 player’s musical prowess is no slouch either. With support for up to 320Kbps MP3 tracks and VBR (variable bit rate) technology, theKube will play back clear audio for music lovers whether they are on the go or at home enjoying their tunes. Besides MP3, theKube also supports popular music formats such as WMA, MIDI, WAV and PCM.

At the same time, the earphones that come with the player are not average run-of-the-mill plugs. Instead, they are made from neodymium materials to provide excellent frequency response and impactful bass.

Ultra-simple interface
To playback or pause a track, a user only has to deal with one of the simplest interface yet – just three easy-to-recognize buttons on theKube. The revolutionary player is expected to appeal to all segments of the market who demand a tiny player with ease of use as well as storage for up to thousands of tracks. theKube is dressed in five vibrant colours – black, white, pink, yellow and blue – to suit the tastes of all
music lovers young and old.

Pricing & Availability:
The 2GB theKube MP3 player is retailing for S$34.90 (GST included). It is on sale at all 450 7-Eleven outlets in Singapore. Alternatively, users can purchase online at http://www.ollo.sg/
