Purported iPhone Lite leaked picture shows off FCC and other certifications, launch imminent?
A new purported picture of the much rumored iPhone Lite has surfaced on the internet. The picture shows FCC and other certifications markings on the back that are required before a device can be launched.
Does this mean that the day isn’t far when Apple will formally unveil the iPhone Lite? For starters, we can’t even be sure if the device will end up being called the iPhone Lite. Furthermore, the company has not hinted as yet if it working on a budget iPhone. Despite that, the sheer frequency of leaks lead many to believe that this fall Apple will launch not one but two different iPhones. The iPhone Lite is going to be the entry level device, packing less of a punch than the iPhone 5S.
This particular picture was first posted on Sina Weibo, the Chinese equivalent of Twitter. There’s no way to actually confirm if this picture really does show off the iPhone Lite than has been granted all the necessary certifications. However, it is interesting to note that the casing we see in this picture is identical to the ones we’ve seen in the past. The iPhone Lite is said to have a polycarbonate shell, a crucial manufacturing choice that will greatly reduce the production cost of this budget iPhone.
As per recent rumors, the new Apple iPhones can be officially unveiled in September. As far as the actual release is concerned, it is widely believed that both iPhones will either be released in the end of September or in the start of October.
