Intel is planning on launching its Core i7-4771 in the fall to take its premium line to 2014 when it plans to launch a refresh of Haswell. VR-Zone got its hands on a copy of the chip early to run some benchmarks.
Recently, our sister site VR-Zone Chinese got a hold of Intel’s upcoming Core i7-4771 CPU from our sources in Taipei. We paired it with an ECS Z87H3-AX GOLDEN motherboard and put the chip through its paces.
The Core i7-4771 is a Haswell based processor that connects with the LGA 1150 pin. It’s clocked at 3.5GHz and can hit 3.9 GHz with Turbo Boost.
As far as we can tell, the only difference between the 4771 and the 4770 is the speed of the reference clock. The 4770 is clocked at 3.4 GHz, while the 4771 comes in at 3.5Ghz. Earlier this summer, rumor had it that the 4771 would come with a new graphics core but in the end this wasn’t the case.
