Qualcomm Snapdragon 400

Qualcomm announced the newest addition to their Snapdragon 400 family, the MSM8926 SoC. Qualcomm’s new SKU comes with quad-core ARM Cortex A7 CPUs and features built-in LTE.

Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 400 chipsets are targeted at mid-range devices such as the HTC First or the Sony Xperia L, or even the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini. This new model, the MSM8926, features four ARM Cortex A7 CPUs and the Adreno 305 GPU. As the title says, the new SoC features built-in LTE.

Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 MSM8926 Salient Features:

  • 1.2 GHz Quad Core ARM Cortex A7 CPUs
  • Adreno 305 GPU
  • LPDDR3/LPDDR2 Support
  • Category 4 LTE (FDD/TDD)
  • Dual SIM Dual Active (DSDA)

Expect the MSM8926 to become available towards the end of 2013. Qualcomm also introduced reference tablet designs (7-inch and 10-inch) which are based on the older (3G only) MSM8230 and MSM8030 chipsets. The said variants are targeted at developing markets such as India and China.
