While this year's CommunicAsia 2012 is said to be bigger and better than previous years, some of the big name companies such as Samsung, LG, Nokia, Microsoft, and NTT DoCoMo are no longer participating in this information and communications technology (ICT) exhibition and conference. But if it's any consolation, Huawei is showcasing their products including the Ascend P1 Android smartphone, while ZTE has announced their LTE phone. Panasonic also unveiled the ToughPad at CommunicAsia 2012.
Huawei has a prominent booth right in the middle within the exhibition halls and among the range of products showcased, we spotted the Ascend P1. The Ascend P1 was announced at CES earlier this year (together with the P1 S), featuring dual-core 1.5GHz TI OMAP 4460 Cortex-A9 processor, 4.3-inch super AMOLED (960 x 540) touchscreen with Corning Gorilla Glass, 8-megapixel BSI rear-facing camera, comes with 1670mAh battery and runs Android 4.0 ICS. Pricing and availability will be announced closer to retail.
The Huawei Wingle E355 claims to be the world's first Wi-Fi dongle that supports HSPA+ and Wi-Fi 802.11a/b/g/n. You can insert your 3.5G SIM card, and there is also a microSD card slot for you to share data wirelessly. it supports up to five devices simultaneously, Windows or Mac. There is also an optional power adapter if you do not want to plug the Wingle to your computer.
